Stress Management
Stress is one of the biggest problems an adult will face that can also result in a shorter life span. Chronic stress can lead to cardiovascular problems, mental health conditions, and much worse. If you are looking for ways to live a healthier, longer life, then you need to reduce your stress levels dramatically. We have some tips that can help you cut out stress and increase your lifespan in the process.
Switch Up Your Lifestyle
Following the same routine day in and day out can be peaceful for some. However, it can have the exact opposite effect on others. When a task becomes overly mundane, it can get harder to complete which not only adds pressure to your day, but it can end up increasing your stress levels. Try to vary your routine on a daily or weekly basis to reduce stress and lower your overall pressure level.
Meditation For Wellness
There are several different meditation techniques that you can try that will help improve your health. There are techniques that allow you to just breathe and think freely, and there are others where you are focused on your thoughts. Certain types of meditation paired with yoga poses can boost circulation, bolster the immune system, and even lower blood pressure.
Add Movement to Your Weekly Routine
Getting up and into the gym is great, but there are always excuses that stop us from seeing things through. To help regulate hormones, improve heart health, and shed inflammation, you need two specific types of physical activity. Start by walking around for at least 5 minutes for every 30 minutes you are sitting down. If this means taking a lot of breaks, then do it. Next, make a point of spending 30 minutes every other day raising your heart rate. This can be a quick job, stair climbing, guided HITT training, or anything else that gets your heart pumping.
Discover What Triggers Your Stress
This first step in reducing stress to help manage pressure is to identify the things in your life that would be considered triggers. These will vary from person to person, but they are the key to stress management. For some, it may be simple things like too much noise or something less common like being faced with a short deadline. Once you have identified your triggers you can work towards managing the stress that is caused by those events or actions. So, take this opportunity to spend 5 minutes evaluating what exactly you find stressful in your life. Write this down and reflect on how you can change these to be less stressful overall.
Until next time, be well.
